How TV Forms a 5 Yr. Olds Perceptions......

Meredith: Mommy, who did you vote for?

Mommy: Obama

Meredith: I voted for 'Cain (in the mock classroom election)

Mommy: That's OK....you can vote for who you want. Why did you vote for McCain and not Obama?

Meredith: Because he's a good guy....I've seen the black guy stealing cars on TV....

Maybe it is time to turn our TV's off.....

Only Two Weekends Left.....

Thank God!!

The kids are in bed, my husband is on his way to WI for a week-long business trip, and we made a whopping $35.00 at our pumpkin stand!! My four-year old son decided to become a fire walker today at his grandma's and pushed a log across the burning fire pit. Of course, he had to walk across it while the log was burning!!! Did he not see his mother standing there or is it the beginning of the male oblivion to the women around them? Did he know that my response to this behavior was severely limited due to the fact there were 50 people in the same area....watching? Or, maybe it was just the pleasure principle and he was living in the moment...possibly something to be admired as we grow older....

Sometimes I wonder if it is customary for country kids to act as if they are being raised by wolves and I always promised that my kids would at least act civilized but I think I have been mistaken....just last week my son popped the screen out of our dining room window and leaped out in his underwear.....while 5 high-class women from Chicago were standing in my yard.....I was mortified.....maybe things will return to normal come Nov. 1st or maybe I need to adjust.
